We (Mommy, Ben, Joey and the girls) spent the day cleaning to get ready for the party. While Kara was napping, the rest of us went into Joey's room to clean up all of his toys. Joey has a bad habit of locking doors and the lock on his room is in the hall. We soon realized that we had been locked in! Thankfully Mommy had her phone in her pocket, but we had no key to get out! We sent Ben out the front window, but of course the front door and side gate were both locked. So, Ben climbed back into the window and we called Daddy at work! Please come home and let us out! Brad, left work and had to drive all the way home to unlock the bedroom door. Kara Grace slept through the whole adventure and we spent about an hour locked in...or out...of our house. Joey did have to make one "bathroom" trip out the window to the side of the house. All in all, it was not what we planned, but we certainly won't forget it!
The girls had a pink and purple first birthday party full of the number one. All the food was pink or purple too! We had lots of family and some friends over. Everything was so cute! Mimi and Michelle came over early to help set up and clean up. Kayley and Kara wore purple dresses and they had lots of fun showing off, especially Kara. We sang to each one of them, and then they tried their cake. Kayley loved it and ate almost half of her little cake. Kara liked it too, but she picked hers up and dumped it on the floor after about 5 minutes of tasting. The girls were worn out and went down for a nap before the party was over. It was a wonderful party for two wonderful daughters. Mommy loves you both so much!
